About Ratherpress Tree Service

Request an estimate

Who we are

Ratherpress Tree Service is a referral service. We connect homeowners in Baton Rouge and the Baton Rouge area with independent tree providers. That is the whole job.

We do not own trucks. We do not run crews. We do not cut, haul or grind. The providers in our network do.

Why this site exists

Most people have never hired tree work. Then a limb lands on the fence, or a storm drops a trunk across the yard. Suddenly you need a stranger with a chainsaw and you have no idea whom to trust.

This site exists to make that first step easier. It explains what is happening, what to do first and what to ask. Then it points you to a request form.

How providers are matched

You tell us about your tree and where you live. You can add photos. We pass the request to independent providers who cover your area.

A provider then contacts you. Some may offer to come out and look. Some may give a rough range over the phone. Either way, you decide what to do next.

What we expect from providers

Providers in our network are independent businesses. We ask them to:

  • Give a written quote before work starts
  • Explain the job in plain words
  • Be honest about what they can and cannot do
  • Treat your property with care
  • Hold the licenses and insurance their work requires

You should still check these things yourself. Ask for proof. A good provider will not mind.

What we do not do

We do not set prices. We do not pick your schedule. We do not promise a start time. Providers set their own hours, and those hours vary.

We also do not give legal or insurance advice. Some policies may cover sudden damage, so check your policy. Providers can often help document damage for a claim, but your insurer makes the call.

How we get paid

Providers in our network may pay Ratherpress Tree Service a referral fee when a request turns into work. You pay the provider directly, at the price in your written quote. Ask the provider about anything on that quote you do not understand.

Safety first, then photos

If a tree is down right now, stay back. Keep people and pets away. Stay clear of any wires. If a line is touching the tree, treat it as live and report it to the utility. Once it is safe, take photos from a distance. They help any provider understand the job.
